I am not convinced by Cardano's base-layer security. AFAIK, it's non-slashing PoS (slashing appears to be not decided on yet but unlikely?). I'd be very curious to learn how this doesn't introduce an array of trust assumptions and attack vectors.

Cardano's rise is encouraging. In a sea of ICOs the market recognized & financially aligned with a project led by a very credentialed team w strong computer science & cryptography backgrounds who worked for years.

I'm trying to understand how Praos accomplishes semi-synchronous consensus....However, even in this case, you're getting semi-synchronous chain growth, not semi-synchronous safety, as if there is a situation where a node accepts a block as finalized, and then network latency suddenly increases sharply (eg. it keeps rising exponentially), then an attacker chain could outgrow it. So it's not quite the same thing that you can get with traditional BFT-inspired algorithms...

Cardano is a particular consensus protocol, built around a PoS sybil control mechanism. It is not well-understood enough for people to trust it yet.

Cardano and Marmotcoin currently processing roughly the same number of on-chain txs.

adding $ADA is hilarious

that blockchain is more centralized then $XRP and just about as centralized as $IOTA

The entire Cardano network is currently centrally controlled by @InputOutputHK and processes a whopping ~50 transactions *per hour*. This thing definitely deserves a $3.5B market cap and @coinbase listing, right? .... right?

How did it become a $10B coin when it's only 3 months old and the only major exchanges trading it is Bittrex and Binance and without even any fiat trading pairs?

Either the market is crazy or Cardano will end world hunger.
