DPoS chains such as Tron make an extreme trust-dependency trade-off compared to other chains to reach higher throughput. Now, despite having made this brutal trade-off, it can't even handle a single dapp (BTT) without spinning up a separate chain.

I find the behavior of Justin Sun and the TRON Foundation appalling and would recommend avoiding the project. For one, as Juan Benet points out, the plagiarism within TRON Foundation's white paper is intellectually dishonest and ungrateful to prior crypto efforts. Secondly, inspect the Twitter feeds of Justin Sun and the TRON Foundation. Both represent a litany of repetitive pumps about crypto exchange listings and partnerships.

TRON is a fascinating economic and ethical study. Can a photocopy pump be backfilled with real substance? It's like paper mache art. Inflate a paper-thin balloon, then surround it with hardened substance.

The TRX ERC20 coin is a placeholder for a future coin on a new chain. However, until mainnet launches (looks like May 31 is their latest date, undoubtedly to be pushed back), they are just an ERC20 token. Their usage stats are pathetic compared to ETH.
